Some come for friendship and dating while others come for the support they cannot get anywhere else. Oregon Herpes Groups (Local)
Please Note: These herpes groups (HPV, too) are not run by HWerks. They are run by awesome volunteers! While some groups may focus on support, others may be purely for social and dating. Local groups are just another way to meet people in your area and are a great asset to the community! Not all group members are a member of HWerks and vice versa. Each group is different so please visit their website for more details. Visit the Local Groups page to learn more about local groups.

20 and 30 somethings in Portland living with HSV1/2 (NEW Group)
This group is open to any 20 & 30 – something Portlander living with HSV1 or HSV2. We all know the totally untrue and hurtful stigmas that surround this condition – it’s taught to us at a young age to be fearful of herpes and that contracting this virus is the worst thing in the world. We’ve all faced rejection in one form or another by people who just don’t understand how ridiculously common this virus is.
SO…If you are looking to meet people, build friendships and relationships in a judgement-free zone with people who just get it, please join! We’d love to have you! We’ll have game nights, trivia nights, bar crawls, hiking groups, wine tasting – you name it!
Looking forward to meeting you 🙂

Portland Area Friends
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/portlandareafriends/
From their Website:
Portland Area Friends is a social organization for people 18 years of age and older dealing with the challenge of herpes.
We are not a group that provides medical information or treatment options.
Our purpose is to provide a relaxed environment for fun and friendship. We go to local and seasonal events, happy hours, dinners at local restaurants, movies, pizza night, and an occasional day trip or camping trip.
Each month, our members plan our activities to ensure that there is something fun for everyone
Many members tell us that they delayed joining the group for a long time because they were intimidated by the thought of attending their first event. The same members tell us they wish they had come to their first event sooner, because they found it fun and helpful.
The members of the Portland Area Friends welcome you to join us for fun and good times! You are far from alone in dealing with this situation.
