About Us…

Like many social communities, HWerks is unique in one important way. The common bond our community shares is HSV and/or HPV.

HWerks is a thriving social network! We offer a private Facebook group, maintain active forums, and feature an outstanding video chat platform!

Founded in 2007, HWerks has evolved considerably through many upgrades. What began as a local Chicago-area website quickly expanded nationwide due to growing demand. Today, we’re proud to have members from four different countries!

In 2012, with thousands of members and a flourishing community, we made a bold move. To ensure an active membership base, we refreshed our entire site and database from scratch. We invited back all previous members to confirm their continued interest in the community. We then made the site exclusively member-only. This decision proved incredibly successful, and our members are more satisfied than ever!

In 2018, we did it again.

We built not just a community platform, but one that encourages interaction, support, and fun! Many members who have found wellness and acceptance continue to participate on the site. They return to connect with friends and engage in various areas of the platform.

Features

While HWerks offers numerous features, people use it for different reasons. These can be categorized into 3 main areas:

1. Herpes Support

Receiving an HSV diagnosis can trigger a range of emotions. The two most common reactions are anger and feeling isolated. You’re not alone – many others share these feelings. Our community includes people who have been through similar experiences and are ready to answer questions. You’ll soon discover that things do get better!

2. Information

After receiving a diagnosis, most people turn to their computers seeking information. Unfortunately, many encounter misleading or frightening content online. Within HWerks, you’ll find peace of mind. We offer reliable information, and our chat rooms and forums serve as excellent resources for answering your questions!

3. Most Importantly – We Have Fun

Not everyone wants to focus on health discussions all the time. Many members have moved beyond support to enjoy other aspects of our community. Our chat rooms and forums offer both laughter and engaging conversations. Interest groups connect people with similar hobbies. The site evolves with you!

We have all types of members here, from newly diagnosed individuals seeking support to those who are simply enjoying life. HWerks welcomes everyone – single or in relationships – who want to participate, socialize, or build friendships.

Your privacy is important to us!

A common concern is “Who can see my profile?” Rest assured – we are a 100% membership-only site, so only members can access our community! This creates a comfortable environment where members can participate freely, knowing we don’t offer “Free” or “Trial” memberships. Members must be verified to access the site. While we don’t require medical documentation, paid membership indicates genuine interest in our community.

We Never Share Information

HWerks maintains independence from other websites and never shares or sells information. That’s simply not our practice. Of course, we would comply with legal obligations, but in all our years of operation, this has never been necessary.
